How to deal with Re-Writeable CDs
Burn My Files support re-writeable disks. To erase a disk with data on it select Erase Disc.
Insert your re-writeable CD or DVD
Insert your re-writeable CD or DVD media into your CD or DVD recorder. Burn My Files should automatically identify the type of burner you have connected to your computer and display it in the Device field together with the type of disk that you currently have inserted.
Note: If Burn My Files does NOT detect your burner, or when a new disk is inserted, click the Refresh button.
Note: A re-writeable disk should be recognized as either a [ CD-RW ] or a [ DVD-RW ]. "RW" signifies that it is "Re-Writeable".
Two wiping options are available:
QUICK
A quick erase removes only the CD/DVD table of contents. It is a fast way of making existing data on the disk unreadable, however it does not permanently erase data on the disk and it may be possible for an expert to recover it.
FULL
A full erase removes all data from the disk. It is a longer process, but a more secure deletion.
